Luke's first birthday cake!

Well.. it was a month late.. due to everyone being so sick.. but he finally got his cake, and he loved it! We were going to try to have a big party again, but it just seemed like it was going to be so hard to find a day where everyone would be able to come.. so we just decided it would be easiest to give him his cake on Easter, while family was together. I know.. not all family was there.. and I feel bad about that.. I wish it would have worked out the first time.. my fault. :( I'm sure Luke won't mind getting more cake again though.. we can do it all over again. He doesn't realize it was for his birthday. He just thought mom was being really nice and letting him make a huge mess with his food. :)
He really had a blast with it. We got it on video too. As soon as I can get it on here, I'll post that. Here are some pictures of it all.

I'm sure he could have gotten even messier.. but we stopped it before he made himself sick from all of that sugar!

What fun.. I'll never forget that day. :)

Happy Easter!

Here's Luke's model pose in his Easter outfit. He looked so cute!
The Easter bunny came and left a trail of eggs leading to his baskets. One was from Grammy and Grandaddy and the other was from the Easter bunny. :)
He didn't quite get the concept of following the eggs.. but he liked picking some of them up and throwing them and trying to eat them. :)

Grammy and Grandaddy came to visit over the weekend.. and Luke got so excited when Grandaddy was showing him how to hold a golf club. Future golfer??

Luke's first Astros game!

Well, it took a year, but Luke finally made it to his first baseball game, and it will probably be another year before he makes it to another! It was fun.. but hard to really enjoy the game with a one year old.. he is just all boy and into everything. I love it though! Wouldn't want it any other way. :)

Mexico trip

Here are a few pictures from our family trip to Mexico. It was beautiful and we had a great time spending the week with the whole Grein family.

This was my first time to not stay at a resort in Mexico. We stayed at a house.. which was great.. we had the whole place to ourselves.

Here are a few pictures of fun in the pool. Luke loved it!! The water was a bit chilly in the mornings.. but he didn't mind a bit.

Look at that hair! We decided not to cut it until we got home.. which was a good idea, cause it acted as a hat for him. :)

He didn't really want to be in this float much. He liked being held much better. We'd just swim around with him and tell him to kick his feet... and it was so cute, he kicked like a little frog.

We made it down to the beach one day.. and Jared, Luke and I didn't stay as long as the rest of the family. Luke wanted to run around of course, but kept falling and getting sand and saltwater in his face. Plus he wouldn't keep his hat on, so I worried about him getting too much sun. Man, taking a one year old to the beach just isn't really that much fun. :)Nice family time on the patio. Mornings were really nice out there. There were always lots of pretty birds flying around.

Here's Pepaw trying to work some energy off of Luke. We would use these chairs to block him in from going down the steps or into the pool.

Here's another area that we would block off. After a few days, he realized he could take the top off of this side table, and then he would climb on top of it and just sit.Here's daddy on duty.

First Haircut!

Luke finally experienced his first haircut... and he needed it! He wasn't very happy about it all, but the end result was soo much better.
Here he is afterwards on Pepaws motorcycle. He's happy now... but you can see how unhappy he was during the haircut...
Here he is with Orlando, which is the same person who gave Jared his first haircut... had to keep the tradition. :) He's happy now that it's over...

But here he is during the whole thing... :( Poor little guy.
